  Rainstorm Warnings

There are three rainstorm warnings in Hong Kong to denote especially heavy or hazardous rain.

Amber warning Amber Ringstorm Signal - Heavy rain of 30mm an hour or above is falling and expected to continue. People are advised to take extra precautions.
Red warning Red Ringstorm Signal - Heavy rain of 50mm hours or above is falling and expected to continue. If a red signal is raised before school starts, children are expected to stay at home.
Black warning Black Ringstorm Signal - Heavy rain of 70mm an hour or above is falling and expected to continue, most likely resulting in flooding. People should not move from where they are. If a black rainstorm signal is raised in the morning, school is suspended and employees are not expected to go to work until it is lowered.
