Education

Hong Kong has more than 70 international schools, including 15 schools belonging to the English School Foundation (ESF), offering different curricula: American, Australian, British, French, German, Japanese, Korean and other curricula are offered. Of these international schools, 23 operate up to secondary level, 38 at primary level, 38 kindergarten level and a special education school. Most require the payment of a deposit once a child is accepted and this is usually refundable when the child leaves the school. Other schools may charge a non-refundable deposit.

How to start

• Check whether a list of the schools is in your area
• Check whether there is a school representing your nationality
• Call the schools that you are interested in
• Request enrolment forms and any information you need, one of the easiest ways to do is through their websites
• Visit potential schools before lodging an application if possible
• Remember to check what is the last day of registration, since different schools take application at different stage
