Octopus Card

Octopus card is a hi-tech debit card that can be used for almost all modes of transport. Cards can be purchased from MTR and KCR Customer Service Centres and at the Star Ferry pier, at a minimum value of HK$150 (including HK$50 deposit). Reload money to it when you need to, and any unspent value is refundable along with the HK$50 deposit.

Simply tap the Octopus card using the fare deducting processor and the fare will automatically be charged. It is easy to use; no need for small change.
