  Hong Kong Identity Card

Hong Kong ID Card Every person aged 11 and above who enters and stays in Hong Kong for more than 180 days must apply for a Hong Kong Identity Card (HK ID Card) and he or she needs to register within 30 days of arrival.

To apply for a Hong Kong Identity Card, you need to go to the Immigration Centre in person for finger printing and photo taking onto the Identity Card. It normally takes about ten working days to obtain your new card. There is no charge for the ID Card issued to new arrivals.

Please note that you can make an appointment before you go to the Immigration Centre:

You can make an appointment via the internet by visiting ESDLife http://www.esd.gov.hk/ga/id/eng/default.asp
Or simply call the Hong Kong Immigration Centre's 24-hour hotline at (852) 2598-0888
