Most accommodation in Hong Kong is let unfurnished except for major electrical appliances, i.e. air-conditioning, washer, dryer, refrigerator, cooker and oven. Landlords provide furniture or other appliances only if the tenant agrees to accept a higher rental.
Kitchen appliances are sometimes, but not always provided. Stovetops, refrigerators and washing machines are more than often standard. However, most apartments are not equipped with ovens. Air-conditioning is essential in Hong Kong; modern buildings are equipped with central or individual systems though it is sometimes necessary to install your own. Do check all rooms when inspecting potential homes.
